LED Color Change Lighting Dazzles Downtown Sarasota

With the growing beautification of Downtown Sarasota, Florida comes the latest in innovative, energy saving lighting systems, changing the way light is colored and controlled. Sarasota’s Selby Five Points Park received a makeover with dazzling, animated LED lighting. The lighting system is composed of over 15,600 LED diodes shared by 26 Oak Trees surrounding the park. With state of the art computer management software controlling each of the 15,600 RGB LED’s the system is capable of creating any of 16.5 Million color combinations, animations, effects and stunning visualizations. Selby Five Points Park is the first public park in the world to be equipped with such LED lighting and surely not the last.

Synergy Lighting Leads LED Color Change Design

Synergy Lighting both designed and specified the LED Lighting System by Philips.Using the IColor Flex MX stranded lighting, Selby trees are wrapped with 104 (50′) LED strands, serviced by 52 Ethernet based power supplies and a Lighting System Management Computer. Synergy Lighting detailed and programmed over 3 days to create the exciting light shows performed by the system nightly from sunset till early morning.

Deemed by the Sarasota Herald Tribune as “The Light Fantastic” Selby Five Points LED Lighting provides a beautiful attraction to Downtown Sarasota where residents and tourists have made their way to view this LED phenomena. Color Changing LED Lighting not only provides increased safety, and security but adds beauty and innovative electronic “art” to any project.

Selby Five Points Park is located at 1331 1st Street at the corner of Main and Pineapple. Shows perform nightly from Sunset until 2:00am year round. Every 12 Minutes a spectacular demonstration of the system capability will surprise visitors to the park. Special Events and Holidays will yeild special lighting shows.
