Retrofit 400w Metal Halide with T8 High Bay Fixture

05/05/11 0 COMMENTS
By now most businesses have realized the need for replacing 400 Watt Metal Halide and High Pressure

Sodium High Bay / Low Bay fixtures.
These fixtures in commercial and industrial settings are the single
most waste of energy. Though in their time, they werean excellent way of
achieving higher light levels at an affordable cost per fixture, those days have long been surpassed by rising cost of electricity. Additionally, these HID lighting systems often require expensive lamps, ballasts and high repair costs. This makes these fixtures, a losing
proposition no matter how we look at it.

T8 Horizon™ High Bay Reaches New Heights

The T8 Fluorescent High Bay fixture from Synergy Lighting reaches new heights by becoming the most economical solution for commercial and industrial facilities. The Horizon™ fixture replaces any 250 or 400 Watt High Bay with superior
brightness and performance. Though most Fluorescent High Bays look very similar, many T8 High Bays simply do not produce enough light to be a suitable replacement, however the Horizon™ High Bay outshines other brands with it

component structure and power design. The Horizon High Bay comes standard with a high fidelity .25-mil High -Polished Specular Aluminum Reflector. This enhanced reflector design captures all available light and projects the light around the lamps individually and projects more light downwards from the fixture.

Unparalleled Performance

The Horizon™ High Bay fixture is available in both T8 and T5 Models using either 4 or 6 lamps. The T8, (our favorite) offers the greatest impact to both the working environment and the profitability of it users. Replacing 400w Metal Halide with T5 reduces the energy consumption by only 158 watts per fixture. The Horizon™ T8 Fixture goes even further to reduce the energy used by 266 Watt per fixture while providing in most cases 20% brighter light than the metal halide being replaced. That results in the highest levels in savings of 65% over HID. Because the Horizon™ High Bay uses only top performing components, the fixture offers 36,000 hour lamp life (2x HID) , and an average ballast life of 15 years compared to 3 years for HID systems. The Horizon™ T8 and T5 Fixtures are the preferred choice for any warehouse, manufacturing, industrial, gymnasium, production or retail applications.

25/08/10 0 COMMENTS

18 WATT GU24 CFL WITH LOCKING BASENo, you didn’t make any mistake when you read the headline of this article. Synergy Lighting has a special program for businesses within Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee & Collier Counties. This program will entitle your business to receive Energy Saving CFL Bulbs absolutely free of charge. The only catch is that you have to replace all the bulbs that use these lamps.  Example: If you have 36 recessed can lights, you can not do 20, you have to do all 36 and they have to be used indoors.

Switch and Save

By switching to CFL (Compact Fluorescent Bulbs) businesses can save huge on their electric bill and replacement bulb costs. Typically these lamps replace a 60, 75 or 100 Watt Incandescent lamp while reducing energy consumption down to only 18 watts. The CFL bulbs available to qualified business on this special program must use either the 18 or 23 watt CFL with locking base.

What Is A Locking Base?

GU24 LOCKING BASEThe locking base is a very simple device that ensures the business owner and the Department of Energy that once you begin using the CFL bulb, that an employee will not accidentally insert the wrong bulb into the socket thus defeating the concept of energy savings. Additionally this lowers your replacement cost of replacement light bulbs in the future. For installation just simply screw the base into the lamp socket and it stays there. The posts on the base of the bulb simply plug and turn into the base and lock tight until time for replacement.

How Much Will I Save?

Well, alone on the price of the initial light bulbs, you are saving big because they are FREE of charge. The socket adapters are required and cost $ .89 cents each. Energy savings for a business operating 12 hours per day is $34.95 per bulb per year.

Guarantee

Every light bulb is warrantied for 2 years from the date of purchase against any premature failure! You will save huge on your electric bill! All Standard CFL Lamps are Energy Star Approved and UL Listed. Additional colors are available.

T8 Fluorescent High Bay Fixtures | Reduce Costs

19/08/10 0 COMMENTS

One of the most common forms of industrial warehouse and large commercial lighting is Metal Halide High Bays. These fixtures which are often selected initially because of their high lumens per watt and relatively low price are found virtually every where you look. They can be found in Grocery Stores such as Publix, and Retail Stores Like Sports Authority and HHGregg as well as 90% of all warehouses. We like to refer to these fixtures as the “Engineers Choice” when a new construction project is being developed. They are easy to specify, very bright and can be laid out using a relatively low amount of fixtures.

Metal Halide High Bays Are Really Not Efficient

It is highly likely that the era of the Metal Halide High Bay still being used today is not out of necessity or efficiency but merely that of imitating others. “Well, Best Buy has those lights, we should too”. The unfortunate situation is that nobody upfront considers the true reality of metal halide lighting. This reality is:

  • Color shift, lights turning green and pink
  • Enormous electricity cost of operation
  • High priced replacements of ballasts and bulbs
  • High heat loads emiting from the light fixture
  • Possible harm from explosion and uv radiation
  • Long start up and restrike time

T8 Fluorescent High Bay Fixtures Can Do The Job

T8 Fluorescent has been around for years, in fact you may have them above your head right now in an office! Most people do not realize that those lights used in the office can also be used to provide the high levels of light required where Metal Halide High Bay fixtures may exist. T8 Fluorescent has improved so dramatically just in the past 12 months, that these lamps can now be used for the same purpose. Using specially designed 6 lamp T8 High Bay fixtures such as those available through Synergy Lighting can reduce the electrical consumption by 54% compared to 400 Watt Metal halide Fixtures. Warm up and Restrike times from power outages is elliminated with Instant On/Off illumination. Additionally, there are large tax deductions available to those who makes this change.

Benefits achieved are:

  • No color shift with aging lamps
  • Improved light quality without hot-spots
  • 54% energy savings
  • 210% reduction in heat output from the light fixture
  • 70% reduction of maintenance costs
  • Ellimination of safety hazards
  • Instant On / Off

Retail Store Lighting | Brandon, FL

10/06/10 0 COMMENTS

Recently we we’re asked to produce a Techno Look to a retail fashion store in Brandon, Florida. This was a very unique challenge for Synergy Lighting, as the customer wanted natural bright white light bulbs for color rendering throughout the main portions of the store, but also did not want it to be too bright.  Usually our depth is increased with brighter lighting, however to achieve a “Techno” Look, we had to get a little advice from local teenagers. It seems Synergy Lighting is not quite in touch with the “Techno” Community of younger generations.

The end result was a combination of Bright White Skybrite lamps utilized in 2×2 troffers, and Compact Fluorescent Warm White PAR’s to develope contracting color schemes between display and racks. This project not only achieved a more than satisfying result for the client, but resulted with a 35% energy reduction over the previously installed Cool White Troffers.

Synergy Lighting goes beyond the realm of ordinary lighting with the ability to research and design nearly any concept in lighting. Our design services are no-charge.
