Over the years we have often heard customers complain that fluorescent light bulbs cause them to suffer from headaches. But was it really the bulbs?  Or, was it simply the slight flickering of older ballasts going bad causing brief subtleties in the eye that was causing headaches, or could it be more than that? The magnetic ballast for T12 uses coiled wire and creates magnetic fields to transform voltage, and in the United States operates at 60 Hz. With the passing of the amended Energy Independence and securities Act (D.O.E. 2012 law), the phasing out of incandescent and halogen lamps is in full swing.
