Retrofit 400w Metal Halide with T8 High Bay Fixture

By now most businesses have realized the need for replacing 400 Watt Metal Halide and High Pressure

Sodium High Bay / Low Bay fixtures.
These fixtures in commercial and industrial settings are the single
most waste of energy. Though in their time, they werean excellent way of
achieving higher light levels at an affordable cost per fixture, those days have long been surpassed by rising cost of electricity. Additionally, these HID lighting systems often require expensive lamps, ballasts and high repair costs. This makes these fixtures, a losing
proposition no matter how we look at it.

T8 Horizon™ High Bay Reaches New Heights

T8 FLUORESCENT HIGH BAY HORIZON LIGHTING FIXTURE FLORIDA SARASOTA BRADENTON NAPLES TAMPA CLEARWATER ORLANDO PORT CHARLOTTE HEAVY DUTY

The T8 Fluorescent High Bay fixture from Synergy Lighting reaches new heights by becoming the most economical solution for commercial and industrial facilities. The Horizon™ fixture replaces any 250 or 400 Watt High Bay with superior
brightness and performance. Though most Fluorescent High Bays look very similar, many T8 High Bays simply do not produce enough light to be a suitable replacement, however the Horizon™ High Bay outshines other brands with it

component structure and power design. The Horizon High Bay comes standard with a high fidelity .25-mil High -Polished Specular Aluminum Reflector. This enhanced reflector design captures all available light and projects the light around the lamps individually and projects more light downwards from the fixture.

Unparalleled Performance

The Horizon™ High Bay fixture is available in both T8 and T5 Models using either 4 or 6 lamps. The T8, (our favorite) offers the greatest impact to both the working environment and the profitability of it users. Replacing 400w Metal Halide with T5 reduces the energy consumption by only 158 watts per fixture. The Horizon™ T8 Fixture goes even further to reduce the energy used by 266 Watt per fixture while providing in most cases 20% brighter light than the metal halide being replaced. That results in the highest levels in savings of 65% over HID. Because the Horizon™ High Bay uses only top performing components, the fixture offers 36,000 hour lamp life (2x HID) , and an average ballast life of 15 years compared to 3 years for HID systems. The Horizon™ T8 and T5 Fixtures are the preferred choice for any warehouse, manufacturing, industrial, gymnasium, production or retail applications.

Stairwell Lighting | Energy Saving Light Fixture Detects When People Are Present

09/12/10 0 COMMENTS

Often times for large commercial buildings and structures such as parking garages, one of the biggest consumers of electricity is the stairwell / stairway lighting requirements. For these requirements to be met, the light fixtures must be on 24 hours a day and waste a large amount of electricity. With the progression of Occupancy Sensors, and the incorporation of Emergency Back Up’s, those days are drawing to a close.

Stairwell Lighting Fixture Saves Money!

STAIRWAY LIGHTING FIXTURE STAIRWELL OCCU SENSOR VOYAGER TCP

Occu-Smart is a product line of unique bi-level fixtures that operate either at a low standby light level or instantly go to full light output when occupancy is detected by an integral ultrasonic motion sensor. This product is ideal for stairwells, restrooms, laundry rooms, or other areas where codes, building user preferences, safety, or security call for minimal light levels during unoccupied periods and full light output during occasional occupied periods. These fixtures provide maximum illumination when needed, but conserves energy by dimming when not needed.

This Stairwell Fixture is designed to operate a total of three lamps. The two outside lamps are 4’ linear lamps that are operated by a program rapid start ballast and controlled with an internally mounted, high frequency ultrasonic motion sensor. The center lamp can be either a 3’ 25w lamp or a 2’ 17w lamp, which is on constantly for standby mode. This standby mode allows light to be present for safety and compliance purposes and designated for emergency egress.  Most areas require a minimum of 1 FC average, but we recommend choosing the option that will provide the minimum code compliant light levels while in this mode. An optional emergency battery backup is available, which eliminates the need for additional “headlamp” battery packs.

Stairwell / Stairway Lighting Codes

STAIRWAY-STAIRWELL-LIGHTING-FIXTURES-AND-CODES-ENERGY-SAVING

Can stairwell light be turned off if the building is closed? That question would make sense to most, however, the answer is NO! Not every city or state uses the same code, of course, but the 2009 Life Safety Code from NFPA says you can turn lights down with a motion sensor but not completely off – and the motion sensor has to be fail safe.

Specifically, NFPA 101 section 7.8.1.2.2 says: Automatic, motion sensor type lighting switches shall be permitted within the means of egress, provided that the switch controllers are equipped for fail-safe operation, the illumination timers are set for a minimum of 15 minute duration, and the motion sensor is activated by any occupant movement in the area served by the lighting units.

Don’t get left in the dark, or pay for wasted energy. Upgrade your stairwell lighting to the Occu-Smart Stairway Lighting Fixture Today!

TURTLE FRIENDLY LIGHTING LOGO WILDLIFE

Synergy Lighting is a company that works closely with and strongly supports the efforts of the Turtle Conservancy, Mote Marine Laboratories, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Protecting the Sea Turtle species and other wildlife is a socially and commercially responsible act. Lighting pollution is a serious threat to many types of wildlife. Each year, artificial lights cause disruption of behavior, injury and death to thousands of migrating birds, sea turtles and other reptiles, amphibians, and mammals, and invertebrates. Only 1 in 10,000 Sea Turtle Hatch-Lings will survive.

The Basic Principles Of Turtle Friendly Lighting

TURTLE FRIENDLY LIGHTING LED LIGHTING FIXTURESKeep it LOW – Mount the fixture as low as possible to minimize light trespass, and use the lowest amount of light needed for the task

Keep it SHIELDED – Fully shield the light so bulbs and/or glowing lenses are not visible to minimize light trespass to beaches

Keep it LONG– Use long wavelength light sources (Amber’s and Red’s) in the appropriate lighting fixtures

Adapting To Turtle Friendly Lighting Compliance

Coastal properties especially are required by law to comply with light pollution standards in the protection of Sea Turtles. Each year nearly 20,000 hatch-lings are disorientated by artificial light and most do not make it to the ocean waters.  The lighting pollutions standards are designed to prevent disorientation and conserve sea turtle populations. Adapting to Sea Turtle Friendly Lighting can seem daunting for many property owners who at first glance raise the concern for human safety over Sea Turtle Conservation. Property Owners and Managers must be aware that the preservation of Sea Turtles with stringent lighting requirements is in no way to limit the safety of residences, guest and customers of properties located nearby nesting areas. Each facility faced with adapting to Sea Turtle Friendly Lighting is actually becoming masterful in lighting design through simple and affordable methods. Dark Sky and Wildlife Friendly / Turtle Friendly Lighting incorporates the highest standards of energy efficiency and light control by eliminating wasteful light emission.

Turtle Friendly Light Bulbs

Approved Amber LED, Light Bulbs and Light Fixtures

Synergy Lighting carries the largest selection of Approved “Wildlife Certified” Turtle Friendly Lighting Fixtures and Approved Fluorescent and LED Light Bulbs. With aid of our Trained and Certified Lighting Specialists, Synergy Lighting experts can recommend and provide the appropriate light fixtures and light bulbs to ensure your facility is 100% compliant with the requirements for Coastal Lighting, thus preventing your home, facility or business from facing potential fines for light pollution and Sea Turtle Disorientation

Wildlife Approved Light Bulb and LED Light Bulbs

Turtle Friendly Light Bulbs use long wave lengths of light emission typically 600 Nanometers and Higher (Amber & Red). This can be referred to similar to the longer arches of a rainbow. Green and Blue tone light emits shorter wave light spectrum’s that are more attractive to Sea Turtles and cause disorientation.   All light bulbs used to comply with light provisions of Sea Turtles must pass a spectrometer test by a Certified or Supervisory Personnel within the Sea Turtle Program as well as UL CertificationLM79 and LM80 Testing. Just because a lamp is Amber or Red, does not mean that it will pass. CFL’s, Colored tube guards, gels and colored filters are no longer accepted due to fade and color shift. Currently the following lamps meet this requirement:

Turtle Friendly Lighting Fixtures

Turtle Friendly Light Fixtures are Approved Light Fixtures that prevent light trespass to the coastal waterways. These fixtures must direct either downwards, or down and out away from beaches. Several fixtures may require accessories items such as shields and louvers in additionally to preclude wall washing and direct view exposure.   Each of the approved fixtures may require these accessories depending on placement and mounting heights. Ask Synergy Lighting for assistance on choosing the fixture that will work best for your facility or residence. Each fixture must be paired with an approved Turtle Friendly Light Bulb to form a completed package.

BP Gas Station Goes Green With Induction Lighting

23/09/10 0 COMMENTS

Everyone these days is a consumer of gasoline, and in the United States there are nearly 280,000 Gas Stations and Convenient Stores offering customers a seemingly unlimited supply of petroleum, fast food, quick service and easy access. Despite prices at the pump, or the somewhat higher prices of convenience, these stores operate on extremely tight margins and depend highly on volume based sales.

Lighting is one of the most important aspects of Gas Station and Convenient Stores which often operate well into the late night hours. Owners and Operators need to be highly aware of subconscious reactions from customers that may shy away to an adjacent competitor based upon the appearance of the business at night. Naturally, people are drawn to businesses that give a stronger sense of cleanliness, friendly service and an environment that feels safe and secure. Well lighted spaces both indoors and outdoors sends a clear message to customers that you are open and ready to conduct business.

Gas Station Lighting Systems

Typically a Gas Station or Convenience Store has outdoor lighting that consists of 3 different types of lighting. These are Canopy Lighting over pumps and portico’s, Wall Packs mounted to the building structure and Parking Lot Lighting. These fixture types are usually Metal Halide – High Intensity Discharge Systems which provide high levels of illumination along with extreme amounts of glare. With the ever growing size of the stores offering more and more products and services to clientele, the lighting systems can become quite extensive with massive amounts of fixtures to draw in customers. However the operating and maintenance costs of the metal halide system is extremely high. The metal halide lighting systems suffer from a wide variety of problems from color shift (lamps turning pink and green) and if not replaced regularly well before the useful life is reached of the lamps, the metal halide lamps will lose an average of 35% of its original light output.

GAS STATION METAL HALIDE CANOPY LIGHTING

GAS STATION CANOPY INDUCTION LIGHTING AFTER

The Advantage Of Induction Lighting

An alternative to the Metal Halide lighting systems is LED Lighting, and Induction Lighting. Each offer distinct advantages, however the Induction Lighting System offers a greater cost

effectiveness while drawing in larger volumes of traffic flow to a gas station. Unlike metal halide which suffers from rapid lumen depreciation and color shift, the induction lighting system maintains 95% of its lumen output and never changes colors. The induction system uses a cathode-less high lumen fluorescent lamp which operates at much cooler temperatures and requires up to 68% less energy than metal halide. A standard 320W Pulse Start or 400W Metal Halide canopy fixture can be retrofitted with a 200 Watt induction fixture and provide higher light levels with tremendous savings. Because the induction system does not use cathode lamps, the systems offers 20 years of maintenance free operation with no bulb or ballast replacements as there is no cathode to burn out and the generator is completely electronic. This is a phenomenal feature that rivals LED Lighting systems with twice the life and less than half the cost. The induction lighting system offered by Synergy Lighting come standard with 5000K Pure Natural Daylight Lamps which most closely resemble natural sun light. This creates a very bright, clean and glare free presentation to customers and is attributed to increased customer traffic and sales.

The BP Gas Station and Convenience Store pictured in this article utilized Synergy Lighting’s 5000K Induction Lighting Fixtures. The end result for BP is a higher level of attraction to clientele, 20 years of maintenance free operation and a cost savings over the life of the fixtures in excess of $300,000. BP Corporate and franchise stores often operate at 5% net profit. This means that the energy and cost savings to BP is equal to an increased revenue of $6,000,000.00 not to mention the increased revenue resulting from the increased customer traffic.

Induction Parking Garage Lighting Systems

20/09/10 0 COMMENTS

INDUCTION CANOPY FIXTURE PARKING GARAGEOne of the largest consumers of electricity for many large commercial buildings, shopping centers and condominiums is the parking garage lighting. Most parking garage lighting systems operate 24 hours a day and use traditional Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium type lighting fixtures. The High Intensity Discharge (HID) fixtures are often chosen over vapor tight fluorescent fixtures to provide higher light levels and improved safety and security as parking garages are often victim to higher, opportunistic crime. These higher light levels however come at a very high cost of electricity, repair and maintenance. One of the most viable and alternative options to HID lighting systems for use in parking garage lighting is the Induction Canopy Light Fixture. These fixtures easily replace HID with simple installation and are pre wired with multi-volt connections from 120-277 Volt and a 480 Volt option for larger facilities.

Induction Lighting Increases Safety and Security

By replacing (HID) Metal Halide or Pressure Sodium fixtures with induction, the overall light quality can be improved by up to 70%  while reducing the energy waste by up to 60%. Induction Lighting from Synergy Lighting provides the highest levels of scoptopic lumens which is reflected in the see-ability of customers, employees or the general public whom utilizes these parking garages. The Scotopic lumens or S/P Ratio of our induction lighting systems is much higher than HID systems, and replicates pure natural daylight. This allows individuals to see more clearly, identifying colors correctly, and increase the field of vision dramatically. We attribute these higher light levels and increased visibility to the prevention and reduction of crimes committed in parking garages. This reduces property owner premise liability as well as general energy savings.

Reducing Electricty Costs Up To 60% With Induction

Induction Lighting currently offers some of the highest levels of scotopic lumens per watt produced by a single light source. Because of this higher lumens per watt, induction lighting can replace HID Systems at half the wattage as traditional HID. For example, a 175 watt metal halide garage light fixture can be replaced with an 85 Watt induction fixture while still providing 20% greater see-able light. This is additionally attributed to the higher efficacy of Induction Lighting which maintains 95% lumen maintenance over the life of the lamps, compared to only 65% lumen maintenance from Metal Halides. The Following is a comparison between a 400 Watt Metal Halide and a 200 Watt Induction Fixture.

Convert HID or Metal Halide To CFL with the new Litetronics High Wattage CFL System

25/08/10 0 COMMENTS

With the economical crunch over the past few years and the ever growing popularity of going green, converting hid to CFL has become a growing trend. By simply by passing the HID ballast and screwing in a Compact Fluorescent Lamp, business have discovered that the S/P Ratio (Scotopic to Photopic Lumens) is great enough to be a viable option, providing adequate light.

Drawbacks of Retrofitting HID To CFL

As great of an option as this procedure is, many customers have found that the line voltage supplied to their HID fixtures is greater than 120 Volts, typically 208, 240 or 277 volt. In these cases, customer find themselves either not being able to find a CFL bulb in those voltages, with the exception of the TCP 277V spiral, or that the fixtures are too small to fit an equal wattage CFL bulb. For customers with 208, 240 volt system, the only option has been to pay large expenditures in order to convert electric panels, and rewire to accommodate lower voltages.

Litetronics New High Wattage CFL System Makes Retrofitting Affordable

Litetronics, a leading producer of innovative CFL products has introduced its full line of HID to CFL retrofit kits. These kits include a non-ballasted CFL high wattage lamp for easy screw in the socket installation with a remote multi-volt ballast capable of 120, 208, 240 or 277 Volt systems. Because these new CFL lamps are non-ballasted, the have a much smaller MOL (Maximum Overall Length), and can fit into virtually any HID fixture from wall packs, parking lot lights, high bays and parking garage canopy lights.

LITETRONICS HIGH WATTAGE CFL

Benefits Include:

  • 10,000-hour life
  • 85 CRI, 5000k natural white
  • 65 Up to 150 watts
  • Excellent lumen maintenance
  • Advanced Amalgam maintains optimal lumens
  • Instant start and instant restrike
  • Reduced color shift compared to metal halide
  • External ballast reduces lamp replacement costs

Litetronics high watt compact fluorescent lamps (CFL’s) are designed to replace HID lamps in high bay applications for energy savings and higher ROI. They off er high 85 CRI for excellent color rendition, and they promise reliable operation with instant start and instant re-strike. Unlike HID lamps, Litetronics high watt CFLs have no color shift over time, and they have lower glare and higher lumen maintenance. With a lower system cost than HID, Litetronics high watt CFL’s are the best solution for high and low bay lighting.

Litetronics high watt CFL’s utilize an external ballast, which offers better heat management than self-ballasted high wattage CFL’s. When the lamp and ballast are together in a self-ballasted lamp, heat builds up in a condensed area, which leads to premature failures. Separating the lamp and ballast allows for better heat management, which translates into maximum life and lumen maintenance. The external ballast also reduces lamp replacement costs compared to self-ballasted CFLs because you only need to replace the lamp at end of life instead of the lamp and ballast. This means that Litetronics high watt CFL’s are more cost-effective and provide higher ROI than alternative high bay CFL lighting. Litetronics high watt CFL’s also have a smaller MOL than competing lamps, which provides better optics out of the fixture. For superior high bay lighting, Litetronics high watt CFL’s are the fi rst choice.

Parking Lot Lighting | Why Good Lighting Is So Important | Sarasota | Tampa | Miami

01/07/10 0 COMMENTS

Parking Lot LightingThe customers experience at night begins in the parking lot, making Parking Lot Lighting the most valuable tool for a business at night. If a parking lot is poorly lit, customers will not stop, park, or shop. When a potential customer or client is considering visiting a store, shopping center or dealership, light can create a great sense of curb appeal attracting potential buyers or shoppers. A Well illuminated facility sends a clear message to customers that your business is open, ready to conduct business, and represents a more inviting, safer place to shop.

Making a good first impression!

Making this first impression a good one is vital to the success of any business. It is human nature to subconsciously be attracted to well illuminated areas, and thus increases traffic flow. Recently we received a call from a National Store Chain that the parking lot lighting was poor and needed to be improved. The concern was that most shoppers at night were female, and the lack of good, bright lighting made the store look unattractive to these potential shoppers. This is not just an assumption. As stores and shopping centers become larger in today’s real estate world, the walking distance from store to car becomes larger. Men have a tendency to not think about safety as much as women, so business owners must cater their lighting to the concerns of most women.

Poorly illuminated areas provide drastically increased potential risks, ranging from theft or purse-snatching to assault, rape, an even kidnapping. Women feel especially at risk walking to their car alone after dark. Few people realize the dangers inherent in this commonplace activity, but the fear alone may prevent potential customers from shopping at stores or centers with lower light levels. The criminal element is more likely to strike in these areas because the lack of Parking Lot Lighting allows the element of surprise and reduced visual acuity and increasing premise liability.

If a person is injured on a commercial property, regardless of the severity of the injury the business and property owner can be held liable financially if proven that there was insufficient light levels that could have prevented such an assault or injury from occurring.

Target Corporation prides itself in offering more for less. Target Corporation operates Target stores, a chain of large, general merchandise discount stores, The company currently operates 1,272 Target stores in 47 states, all of which are required to maintain a pristine, warm atmosphere for shoppers. Target established a corporate policy to maintain standards for light levels for its stores’ main parking, peripheral parking and front drive areas. As part of their store maintenance program, Target periodically evaluates the light levels of each of its store location’s parking lots. That’s why when Target believed its parking lot light levels at a popular location were not meeting its corporate standards, they called in the lighting experts to measure light levels, and take corrective action.

How much light should a parking lot have?

First we must understand that there is no such thing as too much light in a parking lot. Most often we find that retailers do not put a focus on parking lot lighting fixtures due to high costs of repair and energy consumption. There are many alternatives such as LED and Induction lighting that can reduce these costs while providing high levels of light. The Illumination Engineering Society in Partnership with Nema, the Nations leading authorities on parking lot lighting standards, has determined that the most appropriate light level for a business at night is 4.0 foot candles or greater. Local ordinances controlling light pollution may require lower levels, however meeting a maximum light level is most beneficial. This foot candle recommendation is both vertically and horizontally across the plane. Some businesses or centers that just measure light levels directly beneath a light pole may have inadequate lighting across the parking lot.

How can parking lot lighting be improved affordable?

Synergy Lighting offers a wide variety of HID, LED and Induction based lighting products that can improve parking lot lighting design scotopically, without requiring additional expenses of poles and wiring to be added. The human eye responds to brighter whiter light on a scotopic level with increased see-ability or visual acuity. Any of the following tips can improve a lighting system on an affordable basis:

  • Convert High Pressure Sodium HID, to Metal Halide
  • Use Natural White Lamps whenever possible
  • Convert HID to LED or Induction which provides improved see-ability and scotopically rich lighting
  • Change older fixture heads to newer heads with type III polished reflectors
  • Replace hard mounted fixtures with adjustable angle fixtures
In cases where light direction is inadequate, replacing fixtures with lower wattage more efficient fixtures, can allow for more directional heads to be installed without requiring upgrades to the electrical system.

Why use LED or Induction for Parking Lot Lighting

With vast improvements in efficiency and affordability, the LED Parking Lot Lighting and Induction Parking Lot Lighting alternatives are an excellent choice. Both of these options offer over a 50% savings on energy waste while providing some of the brightest white light in today’s market. The ratio of light measured photopically (standard light meter), and scotopically (human eye), this is known as the S/P Ratio. The S/P Ratio for a 5000K natural white light source is 2.1. Standard metal halide light bulbs are 4000K cool white and have a S/P ratio of 1.65.  where as a High Pressure Sodium system has an S/P ratio of 0.64 with the same photopic luminance as metal halide. This means that Metal Halide is twice as effective as HPS, while LED and Induction which are standard at 5000K are three times more effective while reducing electricity costs by 50% or greater.

Full Spectrum High Bay Lighting

21/05/10 0 COMMENTS

Traditionally, fluorescent lighting has been used at fixture mounting heights of <15 ft., and HID lighting was preferred in spaces with higher mounting heights.   In spaces where color quality of the light is important, metal halide (MH) was generally the preferred light source.

In recent years, manufacturers have begun offering fluorescent fixtures designed to replace MH fixtures in low-bay and even high-bay applications. The fixtures house two, three, four, six or eight T8 or T5HO lamps to provide various levels of light output.  Fluorescent lighting offers many advantages over MH lighting in high/low-bay applications.

Benefits of Fluorescent High Bay LightingMetal Halide to Fluorescent High Bays

  • Instant On/Off of the fixtures (No Warm Up Time)
  • Increased visual acuity for performing detailed tasks
  • Higher color correction values when using 800 series 87 CRI
  • Reduction of shadowing in working areas
  • Energy savings of up to 50%
  • Reduced heat output of the lamp and ballasts
  • 60% reduction in maintenance costs

To great reduce energy costs and prolong the life of the fluorescent fixtures, many companies chose to have chosen dimming ballasts or have occupancy sensors installed on these fixtures.  The use of occupancy sensor depends on the working environment.  If particular areas of an industrial facility or warehouse are seldom used, the energy saving potential is greater.   For areas where the space is occupied greater that 60% of the day, occupancy sensors would not be a solid choice.

T8 Vs. T5HO:

Regarding fluorescent, the choice is T8 or T5HO. Lighting professionals may hear that T8 fixtures are better at fixture heights <20 ft., T5HO at >20 ft., and either T8 or T5HO at 18-25 ft. mounting heights. However, while T5HO may produce enormous light at lower mounting heights, both T8 and T5HO can be used in high- and low-bay applications.

Currently most Power Companies and select fixtures manufacturers offer great Rebates and Incentives to aid in the cost of retrofitting from HID to Fluorescent High Bays.    When comparing the energy savings, cost of maintenance and labor, the T8 & T5 Fluorescent high bays almost always come out to be a phenomenal savings with the most benefits!

FPL rebates for lighting

20/05/10 0 COMMENTS

On average, interior lighting accounts for more than 25 percent of a business’s energy consumption according to Florida Power & Light. In addition many customers experience an additional 30 percent of their air conditioning expense, just to cool the heat produced by the lighting.

Synergy Lighting is an FPL Participating Independent Contractor offering FPL rebates to businesses who change to qualifying energy efficient lighting. This is an exciting new program offered based upon the new 2012 Department of Energy Rule that was adopted by the United States Congress. The D.O.E. has established guidelines through the Consortium for Energy Efficiency.   CEE is a consortium of efficiency program administrators from across the U.S. and Canada who work together on common approaches to advancing efficiency.

In 2010, CEE has developed a standard of rating products based on specific energy efficiency measurements. FPL has adopted the CEE standard and is offering a phenominal rebate of $2.00 per lamp for 4′ T8 CEE approved bulbs and ballasts.

What does this mean for you?

By retrofitting your existing T12 or T8 Fixtures to CEE Rated High Efficient Bulbs and Ballasts, you may qualify for the FPL Rebate Incentive of up to $10.00 per fixture. That is 25% of the total cost of a retrofit, allowing the retrofit in most cases to yield a 12 month ROI. In addition to the rebate, you will benefit by an estimated energy savings of $34.00 per fixture per year, and enjoy a better quality of light.
